Jennifer Lawrence’s Nude Photo Hacker Sentenced to Prison

Jennifer Lawrence can finally feel vindicated following a painful experience when she was the victim of hacking. Andrew Helton, the man who plead guilty to hacking Jennifer Lawrence, Gabrielle Union, Kate Upton, Hope Solo, as well as others’ personal accounts, over two years ago, has been sentenced to six months in prison for the offense.

As The Hollywood Take reminds, Helton eventually admitted to hacking into hundreds of email accounts and to stealing 161 “nude and explicit photos” from 13 different victims. Following his six-month sentence, Helton will then serve two years of supervised release after leaving prison.

The crimes were referred to as a hacking scandal, yet Jennifer Lawrence was outraged by the whole ordeal that she states is not a scandal but a “sex crime.” The actress spoke to Vanity Fair.

“It is not a scandal. It is a sex crime. It is a sexual violation. It is disgusting. The law needs to be changed, and we need to change.”

Lawrence then went on to accuse anyone who viewed the nude photos that Helton shared of being guilty by association.

“[A]nybody who looked at those pictures, you’re perpetuating a sexual offense. You should cower with shame. Even people who I know and love say, ‘Oh, yeah, I looked at the pictures.’ I don’t want to get mad, but at the same time I’m thinking, I didn’t tell you that you could look at my naked body.”

Although Helton was the most well-known hacker in the scandal, there were others who were also able to access the same stars’ accounts two years ago.

Ryan Collins was another who plead guilty back in March and then entered a plea deal. The publication reminds of the activity which led Collins to compromise the personal information and pictures of the various celebrities, including Jennifer Lawrence.

“Collins pled guilty to one count of unauthorized access to a protected computer to get information. He is serving an 18-month sentence. He would send e-mails that looked like they came from Apple or Google to victims warning them that their accounts were compromised and asking for their account details. He would then download their emails and iCloud backups.”

The hackers became worldwide news back in August of 2014 and shocked people with their abilities that led to hacking into celebrities’ iClouds, leaking almost 500 private pictures involving many of the said nude photos. As Vanity Fair shared back when the scandal was uncovered, the hackers chose to post the photos on several sites, including 4Chan, Reddit, Twitter, and Tumblr.

At the time, Lawrence admitted to being terrified that the pictures which were hacked and shared of her in the nude would affect her rocketing career.

“I was just so afraid,” Jennifer now says. “I didn’t know how this would affect my career.”

The crimes sparked an F.B.I investigation and the culprits have since been brought to justice, yet the victims of the hacks will likely always be affected by the senseless acts.

Shortly following the photos becoming public, Lawrence admitted that she struggled with how to handle the situation and how to respond to fans and media.

“[E]very single thing that I tried to write made me cry or get angry. I started to write an apology, but I don’t have anything to say I’m sorry for. I was in a loving, healthy, great relationship for four years. It was long distance, and either your boyfriend is going to look at porn or he’s going to look at you. I can’t even describe to anybody what it feels like to have my naked body shoot across the world like a news flash against my will. It just makes me feel like a piece of meat that’s being passed around for a profit.”

Studio Eyeing Jennifer Lawrence For ‘Blonde Bond’ WWII Thriller Movies

Time magazine called WWII secret agent Betty Pack “A Blonde Bond” in her obituary — and now actress Jennifer Lawrence is the early favorite of Sony Studios to play the “spy who changed the entire course of the war” in a film based on New York Times Bestselling author Howard Blum’s nonfiction account of Pack’s life, Page Six reports.

The Last Goodnight is described as a riveting biography of Betty Pack, who was hailed by OSS chief General “Wild Bill” Donovan as “the greatest unsung heroine of the war.” The suspense adventure will be available on April 12, 2016, by HarperCollins with a first printing of 100,000. Sony’s Columbia TriStar Pictures bought the film rights for a hefty six-figure sum and Mark Gordon (Saving Private Ryan, Steve Jobs and the TV series Ray Donovan) will be producing. The book’s title comes from a tip the CIA passes on to its new agents: “The last person to whom you say good night is the most dangerous.”

Time wrote that Betty used the bedroom as Bond “uses a Beretta.” Jennifer’s A-list status certainly comes with cool-chick credentials, which makes her a charming choice to play the femme fatale. Lawrence has earned several accolades for her works, most especially from her collaborations with director David O. Russell. She won an Academy Award for Best Actress in the romantic comedy Silver Linings Playbook. She also earned a BAFTA Award for Best Actress in a Supporting Role for the dark comedy American Hustle. Her performance as Miracle Mop creator Joy Mangano garnered a Golden Globe Award for the 2015 biopic Joy.

America’s Sweetheart is not without controversy. In 2014, Lawrence was one of the victims of the iCloud celebrity-photo leaks. Many personal nude photos of Lawrence were posted online, and she called the leak a “sex crime” and a “sexual violation.”

The Kentucky-born actress is also an outspoken feminist — having expressed her anger at Hollywood’s gender pay gap, and most recently calling for the industry to embrace the “new normal” body type. In an interview with Harper’s Bazaar, Lawrence spoke out against what she sees as unfair expectations on female body types.

“I would like us to make a new normal-body type,” she told Harper’s. “Everybody says, ‘We love that there is somebody with a normal body!’ And I’m like, ‘I don’t feel like I have a normal body.’ I do Pilates every day. I eat, but I work out a lot more than a normal person.”

The starlet, who uses her A-list status to speak out on issues of discrimination, believes the emphasis on being thin has fostered an unhealthy outlook on what should be normal.

“I think we’ve gotten so used to underweight that when you are a normal weight it’s like, ‘Oh, my God, she’s curvy,’” Lawrence said. “Which is crazy. The bare minimum, just for me, would be to up the ante. At least so I don’t feel like the fattest one,” she added.

Lawrence channels her positivity and universal appeal through her Jennifer Lawrence Foundation, which supports charities such as the Screen Actors Guild Foundation, Special Olympics, and Do Something. The non-profit organization motivates “young people, artists and the organizations that serve them,” to take action around social changes, according to the website.

Earlier this year, JLaw was asked by Glamour magazine if she’s still motivated by any part of her Kentucky personality.

“My cousin and I were talking last night about what we wanted to do with our dead bodies. And I’m like, ‘I want my ashes scattered on Lake Cumberland.’ And when I said it out loud, I was like, ‘Wow. You really are still rooted in your redneck [ways].’ [Laughs.] But basically it’s a certain grit. Everything’s very family oriented. Nobody knows or cares about designers. I care! But I didn’t used to,” she explained

Jennifer Lawrence is set to star in Darren Aronofsky’s upcoming untitled thriller with Javier Bardem as a possible co-star, according to Variety. The film centers on a tranquil couple whose relationship is tested when uninvited guests arrive and disrupt their home. It is set for release in 2017.

Here’s Why Emma Watson Loves Jennifer Lawrence’s Essay on Hollywood

Emma Watson took to Twitter to voice her support for Jennifer Lawrence after Lenny Letter, a new feminist newsletter produced by Lena Dunham and Jenni Konner, released a piece on Tuesday in which Lawrence addressed Hollywood sexism.

“Jennifer Lawrence I love you so,” Watson wrote.

She also tweeted a quote from Lawrence’s essay about the gender pay gap: “I’m over trying to find the ‘adorable’ way to state my opinion.”

Watson also Retweeted others who were backing Lawrence on Twitter. “Great article! Totally relatable even though she does make millions. We have to fight at all levels or we’ll never be equal,” Watson retweeted from user Clo Jocelyne.

It’s no surprise, as Watson has been consistently supporting women’s rights in the wake of her Harry Potter fame. The star works on HeForShe, a campaign she launched for the UN last year, and recently spoke about it has further opened her eyes to the issues women face.

“I have experienced sexism in that I have been directed by male directors 17 times and only twice by women,” she told The Guardian early this year. “Of the producers I’ve worked with 13 have been male and only one has been a woman.”
